WHO WE ARE

A female-founded cycling community based in Stockholm. We’ve been hosting weekly rides, bikepacking adventures, events, Mallorca trips and Vättern teams since 2020.

What started out as a group with friends and friends of friends, has since evolved into something much bigger. Regardless if you’re just starting out riding in a group or want to take your cycling to another level by racing around Vättern with us, there is a place for you.

    VIKTOR ÖSTRUP

    I moved to Stockholm and fell in love with cycling and the freedom of moving quickly around the city on my single speed. After that, I bought an old cyclocross bike and kept riding, eventually completing my first Vätternrundan. After three years of cycling on my own, I found Friends with bikes by coincidence, and it opened new doors into cycling, showing me that it can also be a “team sport”.

    GABRIELLA GATARA

    I started road cycling in 2024 while training for my first Swedish Classic, and I’ve now completed two. I fell completely head over heels in love with the sport and the outfits. I love the mix of pushing myself on the bike, socializing on long rides, spreading positive pink energy and not take myself too seriously. Cycling has become my happy place—a way to explore new places, breathe in the outdoors, and simply enjoy the ride.

    I started cycling to train for Vätternrundan, and five years later, I’m still somehow training for it. Along the way, I’ve fallen in love with the sport, from long endurance rides to simply enjoying time on the bike with great people and the occasional ICA fika stop. As a ride leader, I aim to create a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

    NURIA ALEGRE

    I started road cycling six years ago while living in Barcelona, mainly for the mountains, the views and year-round sunshine. Then I moved to our lovely flat and grey Stockholm so now it’s less about scenic climbs and more about battling head winds and counting kilometers around a lake. Not sure if it’s passion or just a mix of great friends and amazing fika stops but either way, you will still find me riding around with a smile on.

    Injured runner turned into cyclist and now loving every second of it. I started my cycling journey on gravel and quickly transitioned to the road. After joining Friends with bikes in 2023, I instantly felt that I’ve found a community with people I genuinely connect with.

    I reconnected with cycling in early 2022 after getting a road bike. It felt like teleporting back to my childhood, having ridden bikes growing up every day of the long and warm summers in my home country, Bulgaria. Now I ride to disconnect from the digital world, explore new places, meet new people and make friends! Sometimes to push myself and my cycling fitness (need to skip the sweet treats more often)
